A Quick Look at Bioremediation

Bioremediation uses naturally occurring microorganisms to break down hazardous substances into less toxic or nontoxic substances. A cost effective, natural process applicable to many common organic wastes.

How does it work?

Microorganisms must be active and healthy in order for bioremediation to take place.  Bioremediation technologies assist microorganisms' growth and increases microbial populations by creating optimum environmental conditions for them to detoxify the maximum amount of contaminants.  The specific bioremediation technology used is determined by several factors, for instance, the type of microorganisms, the site conditions, and the quantity and toxicity of contaminant chemicals.  Different microorganisms degrade different types of compounds and survive under different conditions.

Baad Bugs are specially formulated cleaning agents that use this microorganism technology to organically eradicate (destroy) hydrocarbons.  With Baad Bugs, not only will your hydrocarbons be eliminated, your disposal cost will be eliminated as well!  You can also take comfort in knowing you are not destroying our environment by using our product, in fact you helping it to repair its self.

Bioremediation also offers a wide variety of other cleaning products that are environmentally friendly as well.  All of our products are shipped with Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) to ensure proper use.  You will find a complete listing of all our products and their uses on the "Product List" page.

Imagine this... You are lying on the beach gazing over the ocean listening to the peaceful and relaxing sounds as the waves crash on the shore. But have you ever stopped and wondered what amazing benefits we can derive from such a large beautiful body of water? Our oceans offer us a wide variety of natural resources. When put to proper use these resources can make our planet a cleaner and healthier place to live. Many of our products use these resources to Bioremediate.

The Process of Bioremediation uses naturally occurring microbes (bacteria, yeast, fungi) to degrade toxic substances into less toxic or non-toxic materials. The microorganisms like all animals eat and digest organic (carbon and hydrogen based) materials. Some microorganisms can eat and digest substances consider toxic to humans (fuels,solvents,...etc.). They break down these toxic substances in to less toxic form -mainly carbon dioxide and water. Once the contaminants are degraded; the microorganisms food supply is gone and the microbes die off. The dead microorganisms in the absence of their toxic food pose no contamination risk.
