Product Information
Zenagasket
Silicone Gasket Maker - Low Volatility
DESCRIPTION
A single component, room temperature vulcanizing silicone. When applied
as a form-in-place gasket, it reacts with moisture in the air and cures to a rubberlike
product.
FEATURES AND BENEFITS
100% RTV Silicone. Industrial strength. Caulks around tubs, sinks, showers.
Temperature range from -60oF to 500oF. Insulates electrical
components. Seals around windows, doors, walls. Binds most materials,
similar or dissimilar (glass, wood, metal, rubber, plastic, ceramics, etc.).
APPLICATIONS AND USES
Zenagasket will adhere to clean metal, glass, most types of wood, silicone
resin, vulcanized rubber, ceramic, natural and synthetic fiber as well as painted
and plastic surfaces. Forms in-place gaskets for oil and transmission pans, oil
and water pumps, valve and timing chain covers, electric motors and electric
control boxes, gear boxes, compressors, machine covers.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE
Surface must be clean, dry, and free of oil, tar, dirt, and dust for best
adhesion. Hold can at 45o angle and apply a continuous bead of 1/16" to 1/8" to
the mating surface, encircling all bolt holes. For adhesion to both parts,
assemble immediately. One part adhesion, allow 10 to 15 minutes for bead to
skin. Assemble parts, but do not squeeze gasket out by over tightening bolts.
Starts to cure immediately, fully cures in 24 hours and reaches optimum strength
in 7 days. Leave a small bead of material which will form a sealing "plug" for
reuse. To use, gently pull "plug" and begin to use material. If plug breaks
leaving the dispensing tip sealed, use a paper clip or other wire object to remove
and loosen the remainder of the cured material.
